Comments that won’t make it onto the Daily Mail’s web site (a series)

After taking offence at this statement in this article on the Daily Mail’s website:

Boris Johnson is well-known for championing green issues and the virtues of public transport.

I submitted this comment:

He champions green issues and public transport?

He wants to scrap the western extension congestion charge zone; he’s canned the next phase of the low emmission zone; allowed Thames Water to go ahead with its energy guzzling desalination plant; signed off a massive expansion of flights at London City airport; wants to build a four runway airport in one of the most environmentally sensitive areas of the UK (and keep Heathrow going); is encouraging motorcycling in deference to cycling by allowing motorcyclists in bus lanes; scrapped the planned £25 congestion charge; scrapped trams and dockland’s light railway extensions.

And the Daily Mail describes as a green mayor?!

Chance of appearing? 1%?

  2. Well blow me down... it seems that the only way to get your comment published on the Daily Mail is to blog that it won't be.

My comment has indeed been published.

  3. I've had many comments rejected. I think they blacklist certain email addresses on their website...

  4. If you post using a female name you are more likely to get critical comments through. Not sure why, but it works.
