Comments that won’t make it onto the Daily Mail’s web site (a series)

After taking offence at this statement in this article on the Daily Mail’s website:

Boris Johnson is well-known for championing green issues and the virtues of public transport.

I submitted this comment:

He champions green issues and public transport?

He wants to scrap the western extension congestion charge zone; he’s canned the next phase of the low emmission zone; allowed Thames Water to go ahead with its energy guzzling desalination plant; signed off a massive expansion of flights at London City airport; wants to build a four runway airport in one of the most environmentally sensitive areas of the UK (and keep Heathrow going); is encouraging motorcycling in deference to cycling by allowing motorcyclists in bus lanes; scrapped the planned £25 congestion charge; scrapped trams and dockland’s light railway extensions.

And the Daily Mail describes as a green mayor?!

Chance of appearing? 1%?

Has the Evening Standard chosen its runner for 2012?

He’s not even a candidate (yet), and already the Evening Standard has him as the mayor in 2012; I’ve observed the Evening Standard using the quotes of other people to push its editorial line before.

Is it going to push a potential Sugar mandate with the vigor it pushed the Boris one?

*UPDATE* It certainly seems so. Now what are the motivations there?
